My all time favorite book is The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. No wonder I have always dreamt of a garden wedding. I imagine an overgrown, forgotten garden surrounded by tall brick walls covered in ivy, a large garden gate with a singing robin welcoming you inside, a swing hanging from an old weeping willow and flowers in every shade and color the eye can perceive. I wouldn’t actually consider having my wedding locked up like this, covered by huge walls – but I do fancy the idea of an outside, tea-drinking, shabby-vintage-looking wedding, where none of the tables look alike and flowers fill the air with a sweet, intoxicating scent…
These days we are searching for the perfect place for our outdoor wedding. This is not an easy task as the ground is covered in thick snow, the trees are bare and the temperature is freezing cold. I really have to twist my mind around to imagine places in summerlike sunflare light, green shades and a blue sky. We probably will not decide the location until spring/summer anyway, so there’s no hurry or rushing into weak decisions. I love having loads of time to prepare for this wedding; all honor to the brides out there that has to plan a wedding in just a few months! I don’t think I could manage.

I’ve just ordered a “Sometimes Brides Forget” wedding planner by the amazing Mindy Weiss. While awaiting my package to arrive, I’ve seen all the matching items you can buy at Mindy’s e-store – I’m AMAZED! I want all of them! I might have to place a huge order on her website very very soon. Have any of you used these items? The notebook I’ve just purchased is the only cute-looking, sleek wedding planner I’ve found on the net. Any other planners I should try out?

These lovely paintings by Karen Dupré makes me think of a bride with her bridesmaids, beautifully dressed in 1920s fashion. Lovely colors, dresses and flowers. Certainly a great source of inspiration.

I’ve always liked natural-looking, bridal hairdos, and I can’t help but fall in love with these romantic, soft and beautiful hair buns. They’re so classy and timeless! I bet you can make these hairdos work great with both a veil and a tiara. It will even look pretty by itself. I like to play with the thought of dressing it up a bit with fresh flowers in the back. So pretty.

I’m very excited about starting this blog a.k.a. wedding-planner of mine! My goal is to collect all those ideas/dream/thoughts and visions I’ve got about weddings, and make this blog into a hoop of inspiration for both myself and others. I’ve got almost 2 years of planning, so I have got plenty of time. The challenge is to plan a wedding I will actually like in 2 years from now. Hopefully this blog will give me a perspective of things throughout this period, and make me remember all those brilliant ideas I seem to find everywhere, but so often forget right after. I am very open to ideas and input from others, and I sure could use a little help from those who have already tied the knot.
XoXo
